MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY

Medical Microbiology is the study of the role of microorganisms in human and animal diseases and the ways to prevent and cure them . It is a field of applied biology and chemistry, appropriate for students primarily interested in the delivery of health services.

B.Sc. Medical Microbiology

Duration              :               3 Years

Eligibility             :               10+2 (PCB) min. 50% marks

(5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates)

M.Sc. Microbiology

Duration              :               2 Years

Eligibility             :               Graduate Degree in biological sciences. Chemistry,                         biochemical engineering or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% marks.

Career & Scope

Graduate Medical Microbiologists are in great demand both in medical and non-medical related field of study and work. They have an option of pursuing higher studies for specialization or they can seek employment in :

  1. Pathology laboratories
  2. Pharmaceutical industries
  3. Biotechnological industries
  4. Beverages industries

This discipline also generates self-employment private microbiology and quality control labs can also be set up after Post Graduation.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapists is dedicated to the restoration of the human function which have been impaired due to disease, trauma or injury. A physiotherapist helps in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. This primary health care professional degree in physiotherapy eventually permits you to use Dr. as a suffix to your name.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Duration              :               4 Years Plus 3 months compulsory internship

Eligibility             :               10+2 (PCB)  min. 50% marks

(5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates)

Career & Scope

Every major Government, private and corporate hospital have a full-fladged department of Physiotherapy. Physiotherapists also accompany majority of sporting teams. Thus, a student of physiotherapy has a number of options after graduations. He can easily find employment in Hospitals, Health Clubs, Rehabilitation Centres, Sports and Spastic Centres, Research areas, Sporting teams, Community and Mental Health Centre, start own physiotherapy clinic or go for higher studies.

According to W.H.O. there should be one physiotherapist on every thousand persons. This reflects the vast scope of Physiotherapists in our country.

BIOTECHNOLOGY

Biotechnology can be broadly defined as a science in which biological systems and processes are studied for the benefit of human kind. More specifically,”It is the commercial application of living organisms and their products which involves the deliberate manipulation of their DNA molecules.” It is an amalgamation of all sciences such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology as well as engineering technology.

NURSING

Nursing is to nourish the patient. Nurse is a person who gives care to the patient without differentiation. Nurses provide education for prevention of disease and promotion of health, at the same time they give curative and rehabilitative services to the different categories of patient. Student develop skill by handling different field of client by using scientific principles. Students are encouraged to do research for quality care improvement and for their evidenced based nursing practice.

Eligibility             :               10+2 Pattern P.C.B. with English (Minimum 45%       marks)

GNM (General Nurse & Midwifery)

Duration              :               3 Years Plus 6 months compulsory internship

Eligibility             :               10+2 Pattern P.C.B. with English (Minimum 45% marks)

ANM (Auxiliary Nurse & Midwives)

Duration              :               1 Years Plus 6 months compulsory internship

Eligibility             :               10+2 (Minimum 40% marks)

Career & Scope

There are shortage of Nurses in our country, they are required in both Government and private hospitals, industries and colleges.
